This site commemorates the men and women of Collingham, Linton and Micklethwaite who served during World War 1. Today we especially commemorate Captain Eric Donaldson of the 1st London Field Ambulance Royal Army Medical Corps who died on this day in 1970.
Cordingley, Ethel
(1875-1962)

Buried St.Oswald's Churchyard, Collingham

Ethel Cordingley's name appears on the electoral roll for Collingham in 1918 showing she was absent due to Naval or Military service, but we have been unable to trace exactly what that service was, or if she was simply away with a relative.

Ethel was born in Wakefield in 1875, the son of Walter and Mary Cordingley. Her father was a licensed victualler and she helped in the business.

In 1911, she was living with her parents and siblings at 101 Whitehill Road, Bramley, Leeds.

If you have any further information about Ethel we would be pleased to hear from you.
