This site commemorates the men and women of Collingham, Linton and Micklethwaite who served during World War 1. Today we especially commemorate Lance Corporal 32/356 John William Dawson of the 2nd Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers who died on this day in 1916.
Thorpe, Frank

Connection with Collingham, Linton or Micklethwaite and reason for inclusion on this web site

  • Named on printed lists of villagers in The Wetherby News or Collingham Parish Magazine

We have been unable to completely identify this man.

The name of Frank Thorpe appears in the Wetherby News in an article of the 23rd October 1914 which lists men of the area who had volunteered to serve. He is listed as living at the time in Micklethwaite and in the 1915 Micklethwaite electoral roll he is living at The Grange Yard, Micklethwaite. We have not traced him apart from these brief mentions and cannot identify his military service. He may be related to J Thorpe (see below).

If you are able to help us identify him, please contact us.
