Connection with Collingham, Linton or Micklethwaite and reason for inclusion on this web site
  • Named on printed lists of villagers in The Wetherby News or Collingham Parish Magazine

We have been unable to identify this man.

The name of E. Wootten appears in the Wetherby News in an article of the 8th September 1914 which lists men of the area who had volunteered to serve. He is listed as living at the time in Micklethwaite. Later, on the 23rd October 1914, the Wetherby News followed up this list with another of the men who were serving. In that list, E. Wootten is listed as being "of Wetherby Grange". It is likely that this is someone who lived and worked on the estate at The Grange, but we have been unable to identify this man, or indeed to even know his first name.

If you are able to help us identify him, please contact us.
