Reginald Linton Bath was born on the 17th November 1898 in Linton, the son of Thomas Bath, a produce agent, and his wife, Louisa (sometimes Ellen Louisa nee Pilbrow.
Reginald grew up in Linton and in 1911 was living with his family there while attending school.
On the 5th March 1918, Reginald enlisted for Army service in Harrogate as Private 45632 in the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. After a few months of what would have been his basic training, Reginald was transferred to the railway troops of the Royal Engineers at Longmoor camp, but only a few days later that transfer was cancelled and instead, on the 9th April 1918, Reginald was transferred to 406 Agricultural Company of the Labour Corps in York with a new service number of 550879. Reginald's service during the war was in the UK and he stayed with 406 company until 15th April 1919 when he again transferred to 474 Agricultural Company. On the 3rd July 1919, Reginald was moved to the Labour Centre in Ripon, from where he was discharged and put on the reserve list on the 3rd August 1919.
Reginald Linton Bath returned to live in the Wetherby area. From 1919 to 1929 he was living in Linton, from 1931 to 1937 in Church Lane Collingham, and in 1938 and 1939 he was living at 4 Northgate Lane, Linton. He was at that address at the time of the 1939 registration. In 1949, Reginald, aged 42, married Isabella Hindmarch in the Darlington area. Reginald and Isabella made their home in Linton, appearing on the electoral roll there from 1945 to 1961, but no specific address is given. Reginald died in 1994 in Claro.
