World War 2 medal rolls are not available. The medal ribbons shown above are those we believe would have been awarded.

Background

The 1945 Supplementary List for the Electoral Roll for Collingham includes an entry for Margaret McLeod of Riffa, Collingham. This entry is annotated with a D meaning that the person had been recently discharged from the services or merchant navy. The only other entry for the address of Riffa is that of Cecilia Wilson, and we have been unable to further identify who either Cecilia Wilson or Margaret McLeod were. We checked the address in the National Registration roll for 1939, but at that time Riffa was occupied by William R Spencer, an electrical company secretary, and his wife, Olive. We have no further information about them or whether they were in any way related to Cecilia or Margaret.

We believe that Riffa may have been a shared house with lodgers, and that Cecilia and Margaret lived there temporarily.

Service record

We do not know anything about Margaret's service.

After the war

Margaret's name does not appear on Collingham electoral rolls after 1945, and we assume that she left the services and returned to another area of the country.
