Biography

Family background

At the time of the 1939 National Registration, Douglas Allan Wrigglesworth, an under-gardener, was living with his parents at 1, Brookside in Collingham. Douglas' father was George Edward Wrigglesworth, a road worker for the West Riding County Council, and his mother was Dorothy May Wrigglesworth (nee Burnett), a housewife.

Service record

Douglas Allan Wrigglesworth served from about 1941 in the RAF, having enlisted at Padgate. As yet we do not have further details of his service.

After the war

After the war, Douglas returned to living with his parents at 1 Brookside until at least 1947. On the 7th February 1948, Douglas married Pauline Johnson Kneale and they moved to their own house - in 1949 Douglas is on the electoral roll at 8 Riders Place Collingham, before moving to 64 Brookside Collingham where the family appear on the electoral roll from 1950 until at least 1961. In the late 1940s and the 1950s, Douglas and Pauline had three sons and two daughters.

Douglas Allan Wrigglesworth died on the 9th October 2004.
